50 Shades Of Sugar

clear skin diet sugar Jan 12, 2018

If you've read anything at all about foods to avoid for clear skin you'll know that sugar is an absolute no-no. And if you've read my book, Clear Skin Secrets, you'll have seen the 5 major ways that sugar is a total breakout trigger - not to mention incredibly inflammatory and ageing!

So, in all likelihood, you already avoid confectionary, sugar-laden beverages, and limit desserts. But sugar can be lurking everywhere.

Beverages commonly considered 'healthy' like cold pressed juices and coconut water are actually loaded with breakout-triggering sugars. Sugar can also be hidden in innocuous processed foods like bread and tomato sauce. As a general rule of thumb, anything that says 'syrup' or ends in '-ose' is most definitely not going to be skin-friendly but I thought it might be helpful if I listed some of the less obvious words used to denote sugar on packaging.
